Established in 2010, the Centre sits at the base of Mount Kaukau, in the family-friendly atmosphere of Ngaio Village.   Ngaio Health is owned by Claire Rees and directed in collaboration with Joe Liguori.

Our clinic comprises of practitioners with a diverse range of holistic manual therapy specializations, from gentle approaches to more active releases and articulations. We place great importance to ongoing learning, professional development, and collaboration with other health professionals and specialists as appropriate.

Our osteopathy and acupuncture practitioners are registered  ACC health providers . Both osteopaths and acupuncturists can accept active existing ACC claims to treat the relevant covered injuries. 

For new injuries, you can lodge an ACC claim directly with an osteopath during your consultation if you are eligible.   You can also lodge a new claim with your GP, physiotherapist, chiropractor, etc. 

Acupuncturists cannot lodge a new injury claim for you, but can accept a claim for treatment once a claim is lodged and accepted. 

Claims over 1 year since the date of injury are expired.  If you want to use an expired claim, please discuss this with your practitioner, they will assess your case to see if an extension is possible.  These are generally cases with a mental injury, serious injury, and those who’ve recently had surgery.  Be aware that the initial appointment would not be covered by ACC and will be billed a standard private rate.

Disability Access:
Our 2 ground floor treatment rooms are wheelchair accessible, while the other 2 treatment rooms are located up some stairs.  If for whatever reason climbing stairs is an issue, and your session takes place in an upstairs room, let us know and if possible we can organize a ground floor room for your appointment.  The practitioners with rooms upstairs are Joe, Rhys, Rachel, & Debbie.

Cancellation Policy:
If you need to to cancel or reschedule your appointment a link is included in your appointment confirmation email, or feel free to contact us directly.
You may cancel up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment without penalty. Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance may incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the chargeable fee.

Getting to the Centre

The Centre is located in the parking lot behind Cafe Villa, next to Allworks.  Car access is via a driveway between Cafe Villa and Ngaio Pharmacy (see image).  Free public parking is available for 2 hours.

Train & Bus:
The Awarua Street Station on the Johnsonville train line is a 2 minute walk to the centre. 
The 22 and 26 buses have stops just on Ottawa Road in front of our driveway.  These buses do not run often however, trains are usually the best option.

Covid & Feeling Unwell:
Please respect the health of our practitioners and fellow clients by rescheduling your appointment if you are experiencing cold/flu-like symptoms.

If wearing a mask is important to you or you have any concerns, please let your practitioner know.

Mon - Fri 9am - 6pm
Sat 9am - 5pm

There may be variance among practitioners on any given day depending on when they are scheduled, holidays, continuing professional development, etc.  
Evening or appointments out of normal hours may be available at the discretion of the practitioner.
