One of the founding members of Ngaio Health, Claire took full ownership of the business in 2013. Creating a safe, comfortable space for patients and practitioners has been a high priority and a source of joy for Claire over the years.
Originally from the UK Claire trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture here in Wellington and graduated from the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and TCM with a Bachelor in Health Science (Acupuncture) in 2010. Balancing the roles of business owner, professional practitioner and mother over the last 13 years has offered Claire a unique perspective and empathetic approach to helping women find health in what is often a demanding role. Working with women of all ages and stages, Claire offers support for teenagers experiencing hormonal changes, sleep and digestive disharmonies, women preparing for and during pregnancy, as well as those experiencing peri- and post-menopausal symptoms. Her recent studies in visceral manipulation with the Barral Institute have proven to be an invaluable tool in supporting women in all of these areas. Continuing professional development has seen Claire deepen her knowledge of auricular acupuncture, which she frequently uses alongside myofascial trigger points, tuina (Chinese medical massage) and cupping to relieve pain and support clients during injury recovery. Outside of clinic Claire enjoys time in nature, dabbling with watercolours and the odd bit of creative writing. She is an registered ACC provider. info@ngaiohealth.co.nz |
